Hi, my name is Michelle Doucette LMFT. I take a strengths based, motivational approach with my clients to meet them where they are at and help them achieve their desired goals. I use this approach with those experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, and adjustment. My approach My modalities include Solution Focused, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness and several others to help my clients manage their moods, reduce anxiety and depression, and manage stress. My focus I work with people experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, adjustment, relationship problems, parenting concerns, and life changes. My communication style I strive to make therapy a safe and comfortable environment where clients can freely state what their needs, concerns and struggles are without fear of judgement. I strive to make sessions feel relaxed and engaging and adjust the style of services to meet the client's individual needs. My journey to therapy My journey started quite young when I joined a pilot Peer Helping program in high school where we learned how to be supportive and good listeners to peers needing extra support and this is what sparked my desire to become a therapist. I enjoy helping others have a safe space where they can be open about their needs in order to achieve their goals and live their best possible life. My goals for you I work with clients to assist them in exploring and identifying realistic and achievable goals along with helping them develop a clear path to achieving those goals. My first session with you The first session will primarily be getting to know what brings you to therapy, what your desired goals and current symptoms are as well as some historical information to have a better understanding of your individual therapeutic needs.
